Since today is ‘Shakespeare Day’ we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to let you know of the Shakespeare In Georgian Bath miniature opera performance taking place in the grand Old Theatre Royal at Masonic Hall, Bath.
Students from Bath Spa University’s College of Liberal Arts present A Shakespeare Ode by Bath’s own musical genius, Thomas Linley junior, alongside a miniature opera, Thomas and Sally by Thomas Arne, the composer associated with Garrick’s revival of the bard in Georgian England: a perfect combination for the Shakespeare anniversary year and celebration of ‘Shakespeare Day’.
This performance is a rare opportunity for opera singers to see and hear this colourful piece of Georgian opera, performed by award winning postgraduate students.
The event takes place on Sunday 22nd May from 7.30pm priced at £20 with concession tickets also available. The Bird, Bath, situated in the city centre, is approximately 10 minutes away from the Old Theatre Royal, which makes us the perfect location for your visit to this beautiful city.
